Our team actively participates in key industry events, forums, and exhibitions, where we showcase the developments of the Digital Egiz Laboratory.
We demonstrate the capabilities of digital twins, discuss the integration of IIoT and AI in the food industry, and engage in professional discussions, round tables, and technology sessions.
Participation in such events enables us not only to share our results, but also to build new partnerships, receive feedback from industry representatives, and remain at the heart of the innovation community.
Digital Mine on OpenEgiz competition — grand prize 1,000,000 ₸

An open competition by DigitalEgiz Laboratory: build a digital twin of a mining enterprise on the OpenEgiz platform. Projects are evaluated by an AI jury, the top ten advance to a live final on YouTube, and the winner receives 1,000,000 tenge.

The 6th International Conference on Electrical, Computer, Communications and Mechatronics Engineering, held in hybrid format. Gulshat Amirkhanova presented the team's paper on CardioIoMT, an open hybrid digital twin architecture for cardiovascular monitoring with IoMT.

The XI International Scientific and Practical Conference “Computer Science and Applied Mathematics”, organised by Al-Farabi KazNU and IICT. The team presented four papers: robust underfill control of packages for a production-line digital twin, class-imbalance methods on cardiotocography data, web-based AR in industrial dashboards, and Wi-Fi and LoRaWAN electricity metering nodes for the OpenEgiz platform.

International Conference on Computer Sciences. The lab team gave two oral presentations: an edge-based digital twin for real-time energy monitoring at a bakery enterprise, and machine learning models for analysing the movements of mobile objects at a food industry enterprise.

The 8th International Conference on Nuclear and Renewable Energy Resources, hosted by KazNU together with Gazi University (Türkiye). The team presented two papers: an adaptive MPPT inverter for autonomous photovoltaic systems and the integration of a photovoltaic subsystem with a digital twin into a bakery's power supply. Keynote by Professor Madina Mansurova on an AI-ready data space for energy.
Almaty Research Project Acceleration Programme — RoadScan

A module of the OpenEgiz platform for automated road surface monitoring. Footage is captured by cameras on regular city transport, defects are detected using computer vision, and the result is added as a layer to the city's digital twin. The project completed the Almaty Research Project Acceleration Programme (certificate No. 177).

Presentations and meetings were held, adaptation recommendations were received from industry experts, and new business contacts were established.
Summer School 2026 — Digital Twins in Manufacturing

An international summer school of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Participants master the deployment of the OpenEgiz platform: creating digital entities for equipment, integrating 3D scenes, streaming telemetry and building interactive monitoring dashboards. On completion, participants are able to independently deploy a digital twin platform and assemble a complete virtual representation of a facility. Online format, 72 academic hours.

We presented papers on industrial IoT infrastructure: a techno-economic analysis of LoRaWAN networks in high equipment density conditions, and an AI system for meeting transcription and summarization. Participation in the First Congress of Mathematicians of Kazakhstan, organized by the Kazakhstan Mathematical Society. The congress brought together six international scientific conferences on mathematics, mechanics, information technology and artificial intelligence, including CITech-2026, "Scientific AI: Mathematical Methods and Industrial Applications" and "Inverse and Ill-Posed Problems: Theory, Applications and AI". It served as a venue for exchanging experience between Kazakhstani and international researchers and for shaping strategic directions in the development of mathematical science in the country.

The event brought together representatives of Kazakhstani universities, a visiting professor from Türkiye, and experts from Siemens and Coursera. We presented the essence of our digital twin project for a food industry enterprise, demonstrated the integration of IIoT and AI, and discussed the prospects for applying digital technologies in industry and education.

Strategic Session: Quality of Educational Programmes

Our team took part in the 7th Asian Conference on Cognitive Engineering and Intelligent Interaction (CEII 2024), presenting six papers on digital twins. The conference theme was the optimization of AI tasks using modern technologies. The papers covered the full range of directions: from a review of digital twin technologies and machine learning in monitoring systems to generative 3D modelling and privacy in the metaverse.
