🔹 Asia EISC 2026 — Edge Intelligence & Service Computing

📍Singapore · 📅 3–5 July 2026

Our team took part in the 1st Asian Conference on Edge Intelligence and Service Computing (Asia EISC 2026), delivering an oral presentation on the digital twin project for a food industry enterprise (IRN BR24992975). The working language of the conference was English; the programme covered edge computing, AI and service-oriented systems (Service Computing).

🧪 🔬 Presented work

Paper. “Deterministic Edge Intelligence for Low-Latency Robotic Control” (Paper ID: EI70)
Presenter: Miras Tokhtassyn
Session: Oral Presentation Session-1 — Edge AI & Intelligent Services
Summary: a distributed Edge AI architecture for contactless real-time control of a 6-axis robotic manipulator using natural hand gestures. The solution targets environments with strict sterility and safety requirements — cleanrooms and hazardous industrial zones — where physical control interfaces are impractical.

Key features

  • Runs on a low-cost Raspberry Pi 4 single-board computer with an OV9281 global shutter camera (up to 30 fps without motion blur), with no discrete GPU and no cloud.
  • Gesture recognition via deterministic geometric analysis of 21 hand landmarks (MediaPipe Hands framework, CPU only); inference time under 0.2 ms.
  • Command integration into ROS 2 Humble through a UART → Raspberry Pi Pico → WebSocket server → USB/IP pipeline.
  • End-to-end control latency under 40 ms with full data privacy and fault tolerance.

🏆 Participation outcomes

  • 📄 Oral presentation (Paper ID: EI70) in the Edge AI & Intelligent Services session
  • 💬 Discussion with session participants: scaling to manipulators with a larger number of degrees of freedom, application in sterile and hazardous industrial environments, integration with components of the enterprise digital twin
  • 🌐 Reviewed current materials on edge computing, AIoT and Service Computing; established contacts with international researchers
  • 🎤 Attended plenary talks, including those by Prof. Yang Yang (HKUST) and Prof. Siew-Kei Lam (NTU)
