International Scientific and Practical Conference “Innovative Development of the Food and Light Industries and the Hospitality Industry”
📍 Almaty Technological University, Almaty · 📅 22 October 2026
On 22 October 2026, Almaty Technological University (100 Tole Bi St., Almaty) hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference “Innovative Development of the Food and Light Industries and the Hospitality Industry”. The working languages were Kazakh, Russian and English.
DigitalEgiz Laboratory of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took part with seven papers prepared together with colleagues from Almaty Technological University, the International Engineering and Technological University and Suleyman Demirel University. Most of them deal with digital twins of food production built on the OpenEgiz platform.
📄 Laboratory papers
- Adilzhanova S.A., Nurgazy T.N., Aituganova Zh.T., Akzholova A.I. — “Conformity of an Open Digital Twin Platform for a Bakery with the ISO 23247 Reference Architecture”. The architecture of OpenEgiz, whose pilot version runs at a bakery in Almaty (project BR24992975), is mapped onto ISO 23247-2 and the missing functions are identified.
- Shekerbaeva Sh.N., Koksunbaev A., Ilesova B.E., Sakypbekova M.Zh. — “Voice Interaction with Digital Twin Systems Based on Natural Language Processing”. A voice channel of a working bakery’s quality management system: an operator’s spoken phrase moves a production batch to the next stage and updates the twin of the machine the batch is on.
- Sydykova M.M., Kenzhekhanuly T., Talpakova B.A., Tyulepberdinova G.A. — “Integrating Process Mining and Digital Twins for Real-Time Monitoring of Production Processes”. The process model mined from the event log becomes the behavioural core of the digital twin; the test bed is a bakery line running OpenEgiz.
- Adilzhanova S.A., Raeva A.A., Amirkhanova G.A., Zhumanazarova A.M. — “A Digital Twin-Based Virtual Environment for Production Simulation and Staff Training”. One 3D model of a bakery shop shows the state of real equipment, simulates the line and trains operators; the model deviated from the pilot line’s actual output by no more than 7%.
- Kadyrzhan N., Bektemir L., Amirkhanova G.A., Zhasuzakova M.Zh. — “Intelligent Model for Detecting Technological Process Deviations to Improve the Quality of Bakery Products”. A computer vision model turns production-line images into an anomaly score, a defect heatmap and a recommended action.
- Zhilkishbaeva Z.A., Bektemir L., Amirkhanov B.S., Duisenbekkyzy Zh. — “A Self-Learning Digital Twin of Food Production: Adapting AI Models to Changes in the Technological Process”. A twin that predicts quality, identifies key risk factors and updates its AI model as the process drifts, without stopping production.
- Adilzhanova S.A., Aubakirova R., Kerimakyn A., Polatova Zh. — “Recent Methods for Classifying Kazakh-Language Texts: Multilingual Encoders, Embeddings and Large Language Models”. A review of 2024–2026 methods and a procedure for choosing one depending on the amount of labelled data.
