Meeting with ATU and IETU — Inter-University Cooperation

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data hosted representatives of Almaty Technological University (ATU) and the International Engineering and Technological University (IETU). We presented the work of the Digital Twin Laboratory, demonstrated our current developments and discussed areas of inter-university cooperation — joint educational and research initiatives, and the use of our solutions in the teaching process at the partner universities.
🧪 🔬 What we presented
Digital Twin Laboratory
Operating within the department under state project IRN BR24992975. Its main focus is an open digital twin platform for small and medium-sized enterprises with a low level of digitalization: the food, bakery and dairy industries. Research output includes 17 Scopus/WoS papers, 10 patents of the Republic of Kazakhstan and 12 software copyright certificates.
OpenEgiz — open digital twin platform
IIoT equipment monitoring (ESP32, MQTT, InfluxDB), 3D shop floor visualization, dashboards, machine learning for anomaly detection and energy consumption forecasting, and production scheduling optimization. Built on an open stack and deployed without proprietary licences.
Pilot project at an operating bakery plant
17 IIoT monitoring modules, ML forecasting of energy consumption and sales, real-time 3D visualization of the shop floor, and a mobile application for operators. The system was deployed at a working production site without replacing equipment or halting output.
Kamila — LMS with an AI course generator
A Chamilo-based platform that turns an enterprise’s process charts and regulations into interactive training modules. Access to courses and tests via a Telegram bot, with support for Kazakh and Russian.
OpenTeams — team collaboration platform
An open solution deployed through container virtualization, without proprietary licences.
